Ross PILLOWS

Looking for a sweet, easy-to-access pillow line in Rogers Pass? This is one of them. It’s got an array of lines and pillow sizes. Gotta wait until a little later in the season before it’s good to go though. Watch for overhead exposure, especially the more south you go.

ROUTE DESCRIPTION

Park at the Loop-Brook parking area. Head south along the standard route for the Bonney moraines. You will have to cross two major avalanche run-out paths. After 1 km (approx.), you’ll have a clear view of the pillow area. The route up can be tricky during early season, but it typically climbs the lookers right side.

With the latest 75-100cm dump, the pillows have filled in nicely and the whole area is a go. Fairly large number of skiers in the area but most were filming in isolated zones, leaving large areas untouched. No one skied the zones beside it except us (group of 3) and no one went further, towards Bonney Moraines.
