Mt Chester COL

Mt Chester Col is located between Mt Chester and a sub-peak just west of it. It’s not a very popular route, but the access is quite easy. It’s not very wide and the terrain has some roles. Best left for a good visibility day as a quick ski tour.

ROUTE DESCRIPTION

Park at the Chester Lake trailhead, on the other side of the road from the Burstall Day Use Area. Follow the cross country ski path towards Chester Lake. The route is fairly wide and well travelled, making it a quick tour up. Shortly before reaching Chester Lake, take a right once the col is in view and head across the open area. A small creek crossing may be necessary. Both sides of the col may slide/slough, so take caution – there isn’t anywhere safe to avoid this exposure.
